Objective of this guide
This guide summarizes the recommended workflow right after installing WPML Oxygen Connector. The idea is to check that everything is ready before you start translating real pages.
Step 1: review WPML
Before working with Oxygen, check that WPML is configured correctly.
Make sure there is a source language and at least one target language. If there are no target languages, the plugin will not be able to start translation actions.
Step 2: open the connector panel
Go to Tools → WPML Oxygen Connector.
From there, you will be able to see detected pages, launch scans, open the string view, export/import JSON, validate translations, and access the license section.
Step 3: scan a simple page
For the first test, choose a simple Oxygen page. It is better to start with a real page that is not too complex.
Scan it from the plugin panel. The scan will look for translatable texts inside the Oxygen structure.
Step 4: open View strings
When the scan finishes, open the string view for that page.
Select the target language, translate some texts, and save the changes.
Step 5: review frontend
Open the translated page on the frontend and check that the texts appear correctly.
If the translation is saved but not visible, regenerate the Oxygen cache from the plugin panel or review the specific troubleshooting article.
Next recommendation
When a simple page works, repeat the workflow with more important pages: home, services, contact, landing pages, templates, and reusable blocks.
