Most common cause

If a target language does not appear, it is usually due to the WPML configuration.

The plugin should not allow translation into the source language. Only real target languages should appear.

What to check

  • That the language is enabled in WPML.
  • That the page has the correct multilingual configuration.
  • That you are not trying to choose the original language as the target.
  • That WPML String Translation is active.
  • That there is no permissions or user configuration problem.

If there is only one target language

When there is only one valid target language, the plugin may select it automatically to simplify the workflow.

If none appears, first check that WPML has target languages configured.

Steps to fix it

  1. Go to WPML and review the language configuration.
  2. Add or enable the target language.
  3. Save changes.
  4. Return to the connector panel.
  5. Reload the panel page.
